English: Oil cake breaker I think I have identified this piece of machinery rightly but I am happy to be corrected. The manufacturer's name on the casting is Cooke & Sons of Lincoln.
It was used for crushing oil cake into small pieces which were then soaked in water and fed to cattle. The oil cake was made from the residue of linseed or rape after the oil had been extracted. |
