| Description |
English: Built in 1908, this Classical Revival-style building was funded by the Carnegie Foundation to serve as a Public Library for the city of Middlesboro, Kentucky. The building features a buff brick exterior with red brick accents, twelve-over-twelve, six-over-six, and four-over-four double-hung windows, limestone trim, a front entrance bay flanked by brick doric pilasters, a front door and transom with roman lattice motif, and a simple stone cornice. The building is a contributing structure in the Middlesboro Downtown Commercial District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The building now houses the Bell County Historical Society Museum. |
