Summary edit

Description
English: Two 'Castle' 4-6-0s in the Locomotive Yard at Old Oak Common.
The front one is No. 4082 'Windsor Castle' - but is not the famous locomotive that was driven when new on 28/4/24 by King George V (accompanied by Queen Mary - presumably in suitable overalls) from Swindon Works to the station and then in 1925 took part in the Stockton & Darlington Centenary celebrations, bearing elaborate plaques commemorating its Royal 'Birth'. However, on 13/2/52 No. 4082 was in Works and not available to haul the Funeral Train of King George VI from Paddington to Windsor, so its name, number and plaques were transferred to No. 7013 'Bristol Castle' (built 7/48) which worked the train instead. So this engine is really the original No. 7013 - but now without the plaques - and survived until 2/65. The locomotive behind is No. 4089 'Donnington Castle' (built 7/25, withdrawn 9/64). (The sign on the left presumably reads, 'Beware of Staff when Moving Engines'.)
