| Description | A slightly under exposed shot of the old Pakistan rural Bedford bus, purposely so shot to have the marker lamps of the vehicle stand out. India made identical Bedford vehicles until about two decades ago, calling them initially Bedford, then Hindustan Bedford and finally simply Hindustan when the collaboration ended. They were not too popular as they were underpowered, rather failed to cope with the gross overloading Indian truck operators subjected them to. The Indian version was only goods carrying trucks though, no buses, though a handful of private operators did build bus bodies on the truck chassis in Eastern India. (Ottawa, Canada, Dec. 2012) |
