Неизвестный художник первой половины 19 века

Портрет пожилой купчихи

Изображенная одета в национальный праздничный наряд, который, следуя давней традиции, носили в конце XVIII — первой половине XIX века женщины из купеческого сословия. Живописец с виртуозным блеском передал орнаментальную изощренность головного убора, образованного кружевным переплетением жемчужных нитей, многоярусность серег, характерно „развернутых" на зрителя, сказочную пестроту тканого узора вдоль широкого края шали. Суровое, умное и властное лицо купчихи, ее выразительные руки с тонкими длин пальцами нисколько не теряют своей образной силы в окружении всего „доличного". Вся фигура в целом эффектно выступает на ровном однотонном фоне.
