| Description |
English: Old railway embankment This embankment was constructed to carry the mineral railway across the River Devon valley from the high ground to the west of Eaton. Somewhere ahead is the public footpath which follows the river from Waltham Lane to Eastwell. We had difficulty in finding the official route as it is poorly marked and not maintained with no obvious route across the embankment. This is unusual for Leicestershire where the footpaths and bridleways are clearly way-marked by prominently positioned posts. |
