Olofsborg apartment house in Helsinki of 1902, designed by Gesellius, Lindgren, & Saarinen architects.

Summary edit

Description
English: The Olofsborg apartment house in the Katajanokka neighborhood in Helsinki was built in 1902 and designed by Gesellius, Lindgren, & Saarinen architects. It is located at Katajanokankatu 1 (Skatuddsgatan 1) / Kauppiaankatu 7 (Köpmansgatan 7). The towers of the building are inspired by the Olavinlinna Castle in Savonlinna, which is called Olofsborg in Swedish. In 2007, Olofsborg was second runner-up in a public vote for the most beautiful Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) building in Helsinki sponsored by the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.
