Čeština: Vsakovací nádrže umělé infiltrace v úpravně vod v Káraném spadají do I. Stupně pásma hygienické ochrany vod. Zde dochází k zasakování upravené surové vody rychlofiltrací, která pochází z řeky Jizery. Voda zde zasakuje do přirozeného pískového podloží a tím se čistí. Po asi 40 dnech průstupem písky dosáhne sběrných studní, ze kterých je dopravována k další úpravě.
Tento systém byl v Káraném zřízen v roce 1968. Každým rokem je třeba sebrat povrchovou vrstvu usazenin ze dna nádrže. Mocnost zdejších štěrkopísků je 8-12 m. Zdroje:
