Nederlands: De Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst stuurde Oranje Nassau speler Mert Saricicek afgelopen donderdag bericht om op hun bureau in Zwolle te verschijnen. Het lang verwachte papiertje, een permanente verblijfsvergunning, lag klaar zo dacht de 21 jarige voetballer, maar het pakte totaal anders uit.
In plaats van zijn verblijfsvergunning stond er een arrestatieteam klaar en voor de ogen van zijn vriendin Janniek Bruins werd Saricicek afgevoerd en werd hem te verstaan gegeven dat hij ons land werd uitgezet. Afgevoerd als een crimineel mocht hij direct de cel in. Weg mooi leventje in Almelo, weg appartementje in onze stad en verstoken van vriendin, vrienden en zag de toekomst er ineens heel anders uit. Oranje Nassau wil Mert Saricicek in Almelo houden. Terug naar Turkije betekent eerst anderhalf jaar dienstplicht in een land dat hij nauwelijks kent en waarvan hij de taal niet machtig is. De club Oranje Nassau is zeer aangeslagen en beraad zich op acties om dit onrecht te doen keren. Vanaf zijn zesde jaar is Mert in Almelo en is totaal vernederlandst. Hij heeft niets met zijn geboorteland en moet blijven, zo redeneert de club. Mert is een van ons zegt ook teammanager Jan van Laar die alles in het werk stelde het tij te doen keren. Hij benaderde Almelose- en landelijke politici en benaderde radio- en televisiestations. Dinsdagavond gaan bestuur en spelers van Oranje Nassau om de tafel om plannen te maken om de uitzetting ongedaan te maken. |
