Summary edit

Description
English: Original Station Building, Station Approach Opened in 1865 as Cliftonville and West Brighton and was the main station building until 1893 when a new booking hall was opened to the east of the footbridge (out of picture to the left) and the station was renamed Hove. The building still has links with the platforms on the far side and until the late 1960s was the main office for the goods yard. Since then the station retains some offices on the platform side but is used by Hove Car Wash on this side. The building has also been spruced up in the last couple of years to return it to something of its former glory. The shadow across the road is formed Cliftonville House, a block flats, which is behind the photographer.
