Description
English: Ornamental ironwork, Belfast. See 412519. The former head office of the Ulster Bank (now the Merchant Hotel) is a Victorian extravaganza built between 1857 and 1860 to a design by the Glasgow architect James Hamilton. The railing and lampposts are just some of the detail. They were designed by the architect and cast by Laidlaw's Alliance Foundry, Milton Street, Glasgow.
