Summary edit

Description
English: Östergötlands runinskrifter 12. These two objects are fragments of the lid piece of a coffin from the 11th or 12th century. The piece is usually grouped among the province of Östergötland's runic inscription objects, even though it contains no runes. The reason is that C F Nordenskjöld in the 1870's however interpreted some of the inscription lines as runes. It is today considered purely ornamental, but still listed among the runic inscription objects. The objects is kept at Vårdsberg Church east of Linköping.
