Summary edit

Description
English: Overhanging sandstone cliff, Burton Hive The limestone rock in the cliffs west of Burton Hive contains fossils which are easy to expose. The figures in this recent cliff-fall are mainly children (with some adult supervision) hitting the sandstone with hammers, presumably looking for fossils. Cliffs with this amount of undercutting and overhang are not places to loiter under - as explained by nearby signs on the beach. There is a geological fault at the Hive and beyond it the cliffs are of clay, and can be seen in the distance (slumped, quite different to the limestone overhang in the foreground).
