DescriptionOwlet at North Beach, Fort Desoto.jpg |
English: Thanks to a fellow photographer, Michael White, for directions to this Great Horned Owl chick at the North Beach area of Fort Desoto, Florida. I got there before sunrise and thankfully found him facing the right direction for these shots. I actually located the spot the evening before. His mom was there then but the light was behind her and so those pics weren't the best. I didn't see the chick then. Looking on the ground I found several clusters of feathers from their feeding. One was a collection of laughing gull feathers and another those of what I believe was a snowy egret. No BP condiment noted.
This wonderful young owl is an important part of the coastal order of things at North Beach, Fort Desosto Park, Florida. |
