Description
English: U.S. Navy Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Patrick Speights, assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 9 "Golden Eagles", checks the release mechanism of a Mark 54 recoverable exercise torpedo loaded onto a Lockheed P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft for a torpedo exercise as part of the squadron's advanced readiness program. VP-9 had been notified that they had earned the 2014 Commander Naval Air Forces, Pacific Battle "E" award, the Navy's top performance award presented to the commands that achieve the highest standards of performance readiness and efficiency.
