Summary edit

Description A Royal Australian Air Force North American P-51D-25-NT Mustang IV aircraft (A68-703, USAAF 44-84406) in flight over the sea near Labuan Island, Borneo. 1945. This aircraft was issued to No. 77 Squadron RAAF on 10 September 1945 and flown to Japan as part of the RAAF contribution to the occupation force. It was returned to Australia from Japan by ship in April 1949 and allocated to No. 78 Wing at Williamtown. On 30 November 1950 it was transferred to the School Land/Air Warfare before being broken up for spare parts in March 1951.
