pH-response of bromothymol blue

Summary edit

Description
English: In acidic aqueous solutions (pH < 6.0), bromothymol blue exhibits the protonated form (HIn^−), which gives a yellow color. On the other hand, in basic aqueous solution (pH > 7.6), it takes the deprotonated form (phenoxide, In^2−), which gives a blue color. In the middle pH range, the two are mixed together, giving a green color.
