Português: Paço Episcopal do Funchal. Actual Paço Episcopal mandado adaptar por D. António Manuel Pereira Ribeiro, por 1950 (c.). D. António Manuel Pereira Ribeiro (Friande, Póvoa de Lanhoso, ; Funchal, 1957). Filho de Duarte Dias Ribeiro e de Deolinda Rosa da Silva Pereira foi apresentado cónego da sé do Funchal em 1905 para professor do seminário do Funchal, sendo elevado a bispo do Funchal em 1914, conhecendo nesses anos as dificuldades da separação da Igreja do Estado, mas vindo a ser. Com o Estado Novo, em 1940, agraciado com Grã-cruz da Ordem de Cristo. Já muito doente veio a solicitar a indigitação de um auxiliar, para o que foi apresentado D. Manuel de Jesus Pereira, em 1948, como bispo auxiliar do Funchal, altura da colocação das armas, datadas de 1951. |
