Title
English: Pacific Steel Co., 30th Ave. S.W., Youngstown district, Seattle.
Description
English: *Subjects (LCTGM): Industrial facilities--Washington (State)--Irondale
  • Subjects (LCSH): Pacific Steel Company (Irondale, Wash.)

This was near the southwest corner of the site that is now (2019) Nucor Steel. This portion of 30th Ave. SW is now SW Avalon Way; the modern steel plant site extends a bit farther south: part of what was then a block of Andover Street just east of 30th Ave. SW has since been vacated, and this corner of the site now extends a further block south, to SW Yancy Street. While it appears that the street in the foreground at right was Andover Street, at left is not 30th Ave. SW, but a separate road that split off from 30th Ave. SW (which is and was higher up) and ran along the edge of the plant. Also, the modern site continues well into what in 1914 were still tide flats visible in the background of this photo.
