Parasola schroeteri (P. Karst.) Redhead, Vilgalys & Hopple Image location: Davis, California, USA Growing in a grassy field underneath an ornamental tree, cystidia on the gills were difficult to find due to the mushrooms fragile nature and my sloppy sections. Spore range = 13 – 16 × 11 – 12 (13) μm Average spores = 14.85 × 11.6 μm Q range = 1.15 – 1.45 Average Q = 1.28 4-spored basidia observed. 20 spores measured. Recognized by sight Used references: http://www.grzyby.pl/... Flora Agaricina Neerlandica vol 6 Based on microscopic features: Large rounded triangular spores with an eccentric germ pore and no apical papilla, pileipellis and stipe without setae, caulocystidia not observed, pileipellis without granular elements.
