Title
Part I: Carolo III. Lotharingiae et Barri Duci. . .Dix grande Tables, contenantes les pourtaictz des pompe funebres. The event's date (from the caption in the engraving) was 19 July 1608.
Description
Engraving from a book. Part I: Carolo III. Lotharingiae et Barri Duci. . .Dix grande Tables, contenantes les pourtaictz des pompe funebres. The image shows a musicians gallery in a cathedral for the funeral of Charles III. Duke of Lorraine and Barry. The date for the event is labeled in the engraving as 19 July 1608. Caption on right in French is translated to: "Portrait of the burial of the body of the late His Highness of Lorraine Monseigneur the Duke Charles 3 of this name made on July 19, 1608 in the 1st Church of Saint François in Nancy." This appears to be a state funeral celebration at a cathedral, as the 1st Church of Saint François in Nancy is a much smaller building.
