Summary edit

Description
English: The eclipse was an early morning one, with the sun rising partially eclipsed. It would have been visible in New York, but the forecast was iffy at best. However, the forecast looked better going north, so the day before, I scouted a location using Google maps and I made a last minute reservation at a motel in Hampton Beach, NH, 250 miles away. Drove the whole afternoon. I was up at 4:30 next morning and set up my cameras. Surprisingly, there were quite a few people out by 5, and not only eclipse watchers. The whole beach atmosphere was lovely. But, well, the sky was not exactly clear. So the first part of the eclipse was really behind clouds. The sun finally broke through and I put on the solar filter. I switched to the zoom close up once the sun left the wide angle shot. In the end, the clouds actually added to the experience, although I would have liked fewer of them. Around New York, people had mixed experiences, some had great views, others not at all. By 10, the eclipse was over and I was back on the road.
