Followed in south-easterly direction the long distance path leads to Loddon which is 4 miles distant. Following the course of the river in westerly direction > 1358766 the circular walk leads past Rockland Broad > 1335097 and onwards to Rockland St Mary Staithe > 1334550 and to the nearby New Inn > 1334572. The Wherryman's Way > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1340030 is a 35-mile long distance footpath following the route of the Broads trading wherries between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. The route takes its name from the wherry - a large cargo-carrying barge whose black sails used to be a common sight on these waters. Ten circular village walks branch off this path along the way.
