| Description |
English: Stock footage from Universal Newsreel focusing on the sinking of oil tanker SS R.P. Resor after it was attacked by German submarine U-578 on 28 February 1942. The first scene is the R.P. Resor with a broken back and adrift off the coast of New Jersey, United States. It then cuts to a United States Coast Guard motor boat which responded to the incident and picked up two survivors. Those two survivors are seen in the last few seconds. Out of the crew of 50, the two were the only ones recovered alive. |
