DescriptionPearl Harbor Survivor Theodore F. Roosevelt ashes placed aboard USS Utah 140320-F-AD344-062.jpg |
English: Jim Taylor, Pearl Harbor Survivor liaison, talks about the life and service of Quartermaster 2nd Class Theodore F. Roosevelt during an interment ceremony at the USS Utah Memorial March 20, 2014, at Ford Island, Hawaii. Roosevelt, a distant relative of former U.S. Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt, was born April 24, 1924 in West Allis, Wis., and joined the Navy shortly after his 17th birthday. It was Roosevelt's wish to have his remains brought back to Hawaii so he could be reunited with his shipmates who lost their lives during the 1941 attacks on Pearl Harbor.
