English: Peat slide on Meall na Suiramach A quite dramatic and recent scar on the western slope of Meall na Suiramach. Peat slides like this tend to happen after a period of dry weather. If the peat dries out too much, heavy rain can soak through the peat to the ground beneath, where it acts as a lubricant - and down it all comes. |
