Description
English: Pencaitland. Near the Mercat cross, this building is the Wester Pencaitland Village school. There was another school in Easter Pencaitland in which girls were taught reading and needlework. Pencaitland is a large village, once involved in coal mining. It is split in two by woodland and the River Tyne. This is Wester Pencaitland.
