| Description |
English: Pentewan Basin Beyond the dilapidated lock gate is the former channel leading out into Mevagissey Bay. It was an important clay exporting port linked to St Austell by a tramway. The channel to the sea is completely silted up now and has not been useable for many years. The basin however still serves an important purpose as part of the flood scheme for Pentewan village. |
