| Description |
English: Making dow for traditional Scandinavian ginger nuts right before Christmas 2017. The picture shows the dow, flour, brown sugar, and small glass jars with ground ginger and green cardamom. The dow is all done at this stage, but some of the necessary ingredients – such as butter, cloves and cinnamon – are not shown. Traditionally the dow is left to set in a refrigerator or other cool place for a few days before baking, in order to allow the mix of spices to mature. |
