Summary edit

Description
English: Perimeter track at disused Beaulieu airfield, New Forest. Beaulieu Heath was the site of an RAF airfield during the Second World War. It was used by the Royal Air Force and the United States Army Air Force Ninth Air Force as USAAF station 408. It had three main runways, with each intersecting the other two. This photo shows the perimeter road, now a gravel track, which traces an irregular hexagon whose vertices are the ends of the runways. This short straight section of track is at the western end of the east-west runway; at the other end of the runway (nearly 1.8 km away) is a model aircraft flying area - see 27301.
