Rückseite: ΒΑΣΙΛΕ-ΩΣ. Großkönig (Artaxerxes II. Mnemon?) im Knielaufschema mit Bogen und Lanze nach r., im l. F. eine Galeere mit einer Ruderreihe, Bildfeld in Quadratum Incusum.

Kommentar: Tissaphernes wurde um 411 v. Chr. zum Kommandanten der persischen Flotte am Mittelmeer erhoben. - Es ist umstritten, wie individuell die Merkmale des Kopfes sind. Besonders die markante Höckernase wurde als individualisierender Zug hervorgehoben [Pfuhl (1927)]. Dieser Kopf weist gerade im Vergleich mit der Bronzemünze von Astyra jedoch noch wenige individuelle Merkmale auf, zumal diese durch die Satrapenhaube verdeckt werden. Hier ist die idealisierte Darstellung als Satrap wichtiger als die Charakterisierung eines Individuums.
