English: This video demonstrates how to correctly collect and transport a nasopharyngeal (NP) aspirate for pertussis diagnostic testing. Determining who has pertussis can be difficult. Whenever possible, a properly obtained NP swab or aspirate should be collected from all persons with suspected cases. It is essential to use correct technique when collecting and transporting specimens for laboratory testing.
