Deutsch: Vorderseite: ALZEIGE [Umschrift durch Kreuze nach jedem Buchstaben unterbrochen]. Steigender Löwe nach links.

Kommentar: Wegen des Löwen wird die Münze als Prägung der wittelsbachischen Pfalzgrafen bei Rhein aufgefaßt. Die Umschrift läßt an der Münzstätte Alzey keinen Zweifel. Als Münzherr kommt am ehesten wohl Pfalzgraf Otto II. von Wittelsbach (1227-1253) in Frage.
