Description
Ronde voorstelling van Phaëthon, naakt, vallend onder een stralende zon, de zonnewagen van zijn vader en de paarden die die wagen trokken in de lucht achter hem. Op de achtergrond een baai met brandende gebouwen aan de kust. Om de voorstelling een randschrift in Latijn. Deze prent is onderdeel van een serie van vier vallende mannen: Tantalus, Icarus, Phaëthon en Ixion.
