Description
Foto van een gipsafgietsel van de hand van Pierre Cuypers. Met boven de inscriptie "Wijs af, roei uit wat ziel of lichaam schaadt: kweek op, bied aan wat hart en geesten baat" en onder "St. Niklaas [-] MDCCCLXX". Rondom de hand zelf: "Een „[vinger]” werd gevraagd: zie of u deez’ behaagt". Cuypers gaf dit afgietsel op het Sinterklaasfeest van De Vioolstruik, op 6 december 1870, cadeau aan zijn vrouw, Antoinette Alberdingk Thijm.. Afkomstig uit een verzamelmap met 154 foto's van producten uit de Kunstwerkplaatsen Cuypers & Co. (Cuypershuis, inventarisnummer 0692b). Het afgietsel zelf bevindt zich ook in het Cuypershuis in Roermond (inv.nr. BR 0034).
