Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_67781_20190926_150624.jpg Notes: בחפירות הארכיאולוגיות שמתנהלות באתר בית הבק אל עראג39 שבצפון הכנרת ליד שפך הירדן בשמורת הטבע בטיחה התגלתה כנסייה מהתקופה הביזנטית שהחופרים מזהים בה את quotכנסיית השליחיםquot. בשלב זה התגלו חדריה הדרומיים של הכנסייה שעמדה כנראה במרכז מנזר. היו בה רצפות פסיפס שבחלקן השתמרו היטב. נתגלה גם שבר סורג הבימה משיש המעוטר בזר וכן נמצאו אבני פסיפס מזכוכית מוזהבת. אלו מעידים על כנסייה גדולה ומפוארת.
