English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
In The Hague the American colonel Frank M.S. Johnson decorates people who were kept the crews of the brought down allied airplanes out of the hands of the Germans during World War II. SHOTS: on the Binnenhof in The Hague the soldiers are lined up in a square. High civilian and militairy authorities stand on the side and look on. A lot of public interest. In the middle of the Binnenhof are 20 men and women, mainly civilians, some in uniform. They come forward one by one and are decorated with a medal, the "Medal of Freedom".
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.
De Amerikaanse kolonel Frank M.S. Johnson decoreert in Den Haag mensen die in de Tweede Wereldoorlog bemanningen van neergeschoten geallieerde vliegtuigen uit handen van de Duitsers wisten te houden. SHOTS: op het Binnenhof te Den Haag staan militairen in carré aangetreden. Hoge burgerlijke en militaire autoriteiten staan aan de kant en kijken toe. Veel publieke belangstelling. In het midden van het Binnenhof staan 20 mannen en vrouwen, de meesten burgers, enkelen in uniform. Ze treden één voor één naar voren, en krijgen de medaille, de "Medal of Freedom", opgespeld. |
