Original caption: "Negro stevedores eating on stern of boat. Food supplied to crew consists almost entirely of carbohydrates with some of the cheaper cuts of meat. Sleeping quarters are not provided for stevedores, who sleep in any available space. Aboard El Rito, Pilottown, Louisiana"
