Description
English: Original title: 8th annual Pine Tree Festival Queen and court with dignitaries in Perry.

"ROYALTY AND THE DIGNITARIES - Pine Tree Festival Queen Suzanne and her court pause during festivities to chat with government leaders who were honored guests. From left, U. S. Senator Spessard Holland, Queen Suzanne Redmon, Princess Marie McMillan, State Sen. Scott Kelly, the principal speaker; Princess Elaine Louque, U. S. Rep. Don Fuqua, and Princesses Laura Demark and Dianne Whiddon. The young ladies are all from Perry."

Originating in 1956, the Pine Tree Festival (later called the Florida Forest Festival) began as an educational resource to share the story of Florida's forestry heritage, fire safety, and the prevalence of the timber industry in Taylor County and the surrounding region.
