English: Severe outbreak of the Pine Moth (Dendrolimus pini) population in the Lieberose Heath (Lieberoser Heide) in Brandenburg, Germany. Everywhere one can see wandering Pine Moth caterpillars on the trees and on the forest floor. Picture taken in a Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) forest near Pinnow, district of Schenkendöbern, Landkreis Spree-Neiße.
Deutsch: Großflächige Gradation des Kiefernspinners (Dendrolimus pini) in der Lieberoser Heide in Brandenburg, Deutschland. Sofern dort keine Bekämpfung erfolgt ist, kann man in den betroffenen Waldflächen überall massenhaft herumwandernde Kiefernspinnerraupen auf der Suche nach neuen Nahrungsbäumen beobachten. Dabei sind sie auch auf dem Waldboden unterwegs. Die Aufnahme entstand in einem Waldkiefernbestand (Pinus sylvestris) unweit von Pinnow, Ortsteil der Gemeinde Schenkendöbern, Landkreis Spree-Neiße. |
