  • A. «Гай Цестий Эпулон, сын Люция, претор, трибун плебса, septemvir epulonum» - надпись на Мавзолее Цестия, помещенная на фасаде Пирамиды, обращенном к востоку к Остийской дороге, вырезанной на больших блоках из мрамора, которыми облицована Пирамида... Эта же надпись читается на противоположенной стороне, обращенной к западу.
  • B. Ряд кладки из больших мраморных блоков, которые опоясывали ядро пирамиды, формируя внешнюю ее поверхность.
  • C. Ядро составлено из осколок кремня, извести и пуццолана.
  • D. Другая надпись, вырезанная на подобного рода мраморных блоках, имеется только на стороне, обращенной к востоку. Она указывает на то, что эта большая гробница была закончена за 330 дней, как было предписано в завещании, обычном для того времени. В ее конце не хватает куска, это означает, что хотя и не было возможности сцепить вместе блоки из мрамора, составляющие внешнюю поверхность Пирамиды, все же большая часть из них была передвинута при реставрации, проведенной в прошлом веке Папой Александром VII...
  • E. Надпись, высеченная Папой на обеих, обращенных к востоку и западу сторонах пирамиды.
