| Description |
English: Pit, Mount Caburn Near the northern ramparts of the former Iron Age fort. It is believed that the site was settled during the Bronze Age and that the Iron Age dwellers added the ramparts and a wooden pallisade to protect their settlement. The fort was occupied from 500BC to 100AD though used by Romans, Saxons and Normans as a lookout point. |
