Description
Français : Illustration d'un joyau de l'art mudéjar d'Espagne, de style « gothique isabélin » à la transition du style gothique à la Renaissance.

Détail du monastère de Saint Jean des Rois (monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes) construit entre 1477 et 1526 à Tolède. Ce plafond mudéjar en bois fut commandé pour commémorer la bataille de Toro (1476), en hommage du Roi Ferdinand d'Aragon et de la Reine Isabelle de Castille.

Nous pouvons reconnaître l'aigle auréolé, symbole de Saint Jean l'Évangéliste, et le lion, emblème des Rois Catholiques.
