| Description |
English: Planks washed ashore, Hengistbury Head These planks have been washed ashore all along the east-facing beach at Hengistbury Head. Here a load has been deposited on the landward end of a rocky groyne, probably in the severe conditions of the past week (wind gusts of 99mph recorded on the Needles, only a few miles across the water from here). The boulders of the sea defences look to have been moved around as well - some are resting on top of the planks (and are too heavy to move by hand). |
