Description A commemorative plaque at the Former French Convalescent Home, De Courcel Road, Brighton, City of Brighton and Hove, England. This was a convalescent home built on behalf of the French Government for patients from the French Hospital in London. Built in 1898; restored in 2000 as a residential development ("The French Apartments") after its closure. Listed at Grade II by English Heritage (NHLE Code 1380152). The plaque commemorates the president of the French Hospital in Shaftesbury Avenue, London — Alphonse Ruffer.
