Description
Français : Plaque commémorative de l'expédition d'Alger (1830) conduisant à la conquête de l'Algérie. Elle se dresse sur une des digues de rochers protégeant les plages du Mourillon à Toulon, face à la rade, devant la presqu'île de Saint-Mandrier. La structure en ciment en arrière plan au raz de l'eau est la sortie canalisée de l'Eygoutier.

Il est inscrit sur la plaque  :

« De cette rade
le 25 mai 1830
sur ordre du Roi Charles X
une flotte commandée par l'amiral Duperré comportant 103 bâtiments de guerre
et 500 navires de commerce armés par 20000 marins
transportant un corps expéditionnaire de 38000 hommes aux ordres du général de Bourmont, ministre de la Guerre
appareilla vers Alger afin de rendre la liberté à la mer et de faire de l'Algérie
une terre de progrès que plus d'un siècle de travaux et de combat en commun
devait unir à la France par des liens de fraternité.»
