DescriptionPlatycercus elegans at Dandenong Ranges National Park.jpg |
English: Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans) at Dandenong Ranges National Park, Australia on 11th January 2007. A smallish bird, with a body about 34cm (6 inches) long. The Crimson Rosella’s habitat is predominantly tall Eucalypts and more densely wooded areas in South-Eastern Australia. Very common in the state of Victoria and in the greener suburbs of the state Capital - Melbourne. Beautifully coloured, gregarious amongst themselves and genial with humans, the Crimson Rosella is a very visual crowd pleaser. Flashy. |
