Description

A female Pied Bushchat and an Indian Silverbill at the birdbath in my farm near Sohna, Haryana. The Bushchat just had a dip in the water and is enjoying the cool feeling of breeze on the wet feathers. You can clearly see the envy in the eyes of the Silverbill!

Susan has kept several earthen pots in my farm. She cleans it and fills it with fresh water several times a day. With temperatures all over India soaring untimely most birds and wild animals are suffering from heat and dehydration. The jackals in the neighbourhood have also dug deep burrows and they come out to drink water from the tube well 'haudi' or small water tank.

I would dedicate this picture to all kind souls who would keep around their houses and work place clean water for birds. Please keep water in shallow dishes around your place if you love nature.
