On 4 September, representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, participated in a site visit with Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-8) and NYC Parks Brooklyn Borough Commissioner Kevin Jeffrey to check on the progress of the Phase II work being done as part of the Plumb Beach Coastal Storm Risk Reduction project near the Belt Parkway. They toured portions of the construction site up close after construction activities were done for the day. The Corps of Engineers, in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and the National Park Service, is finishing the second and final phase of the Plumb Beach Coastal Storm Risk Reduction Project in Brooklyn. The project is designed to reduce risk to the Belt Parkway, a critical piece of infrastructure.
