Copper alloy. Those who seek god are revered figures in South Asia. This image, with his piled hair and minimal clothing, represents a Bhakti poet-saint. Bhakti was a major Hindu religious movement that began in southern India and taught that man should have a direct relationship with god. Each saint created their own personal path to spirituality through their actions, music, and verse. Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott H. Eisman, 2014-109-1."
